- Detsanunli news for Thursday, February 19 2009 -

Folks who will be in Boone, NC this evening are advised that country music legend Willie Nelson will be taking the stage in this town at 8 pm, with doors opening at the Holmes Center at 7 pm. Tickets to this event begin at just $22. After playing in Boone, Mr. Nelson and his production team will travel to Durham, NC, where they will set up for a show that begins at 7:30.

This weekend in Floyd, VA, several dance & music performances offer visitors a glimpse of the area's rich and eclectic talent base. Sam Bell, Gyroscopic, and the Black Twig Pickers are just a few of the highly skilled artists and artisans who will be presenting work in downtown Floyd over the next few days. John Howard Wenger and his son Wesley will have paintings, sculpture, and prints on display at Gallery One Eleven, and Darcie Luster will have her jewelry on display at the Bell Gallery.

Guests at at Oddfella's Cantina this evening will have the opportunity to see elegant choreography by Gyroscopic and some of their bellydancing colleagues, and Sam Bell will present his musical work at the same venue this Sunday during the Cantina's brunch hours.

Those who are looking to enjoy music by the Black Twig Pickers are encouraged to visit the Country Store this Friday, where the Twigs will play for a Country Dance.

Artists performing in Blacksburg, VA over the next few days include Old Man Kelly, who will offer visitors at Gillie's Restaurant a seafaring voyage in sing-along form tonight, and the Hackensaw boys, who will take the stage at the Lantern tomorrow at 9 pm.

Canines & felines who are not service creatures should probably fill out their dance cards this weekend at venues other than the ones listed above...but if you know someone who wants to dance and watch music in the company of their four-footed friends you are warmly invited to stay tuned to the detsanunli at ideapark.org, where news about interspecies dance & music opportunities will be posted by editors as time and resources permit.
